OAS > PCEL - List of Planetary Close Encounters |
Last update: September 13, 2024
Computations by: Francesco Manca,..Piero Sicoli,..Augusto Testa (obs.sormano@alice.it).
This list includes minor planets with MOID (Minimum Orbital Intersection Distance) lower than 0.0100 AU relative to
planets Mercury , Venus and Mars.
Their motions were integrated, as a function of the orbit uncertainty, covering a timespan
from 7 to 200 years (software package developed at Sormano Observatory by A. Testa) in order to point out encounters within 0.0200 AU from each planet.
A list of minor bodies with a nominal planet-miss distance within 0.5 million km (0.003342 AU), extracted from this page is available at CEIP (Close Encounters Inner Planets).
A similar list with close approaches to the Earth is available at TECA (Table Earth Close Approaches).
