2006 Jan 20: Il piano triennale del CNR ... e non solo
Presso la Camera dei Deputati e' depositata un'interrogazione
a risposta orale, al ministro dell'istruzione, dell'universita' e
ricerca in cui, relativamente al CNR, si legge : "Lo stesso piano
triennale mostra tutta la sua barocca inutilità in questo
contesto, poiché non c è proprio nulla da pianificare,
essendo tutti i programmi di ricerca già definiti dai
finanziamenti esterni. Il piano non può far altro che prenderne
atto riconducendoli dentro una descrizione apparentemente
programmatoria, la quale non può avere alcuna conseguenza
pratica". Che lo stesso si possa dire di piani triennali di altri enti?
2005 Dec 15: Observing the Perseus cluster for a decade
For my PhD thesis, defended in 1995, I observed a few clusters of
galaxies, among which the Perseus cluster, at the 2m telescope Bernard
Lyot at Pic du Midi (France). The field of view of the camera I used
was quite typical for these days, a few arcmin of size, reason why I
observed the
Perseus cluster on a galaxy by galaxy base during a campain taking 4 or 5 years, started by
J.-L.
Nieto, E. Davoust, P.Poulain and R. Michard.
One of such images is show below. On 1995, as gift for my PhD thesis, J.-C. Cuillandre and Y. Mellier observed the Perseus cluster with the UH8k camera, a
wide field camera installed at the prime focus of the 3.6m CFH
Telescope
at Hawaii during the same year. The same cluster has been observed again in 2005
by J.-C. Cuillandre with the Megacam Camera. Figures below show the
dramatic progress in the growth of the area of imaging instruments in
the last 10 years or so, from about 20 armin2 in 1992, to 400 armin2 in 1995, to 3600 armin2 in 2005.

Nell'arco di pochi giorni ho ricevuto
strane richieste:
- vengo dapprima informato da un ufficio dell'INAF dell'esistenza di borse di ricerca
per il Giappone. Molto carino da parte loro informarmi. Molto meno carina
e' la richiesta di inoltrare loro copia dell'eventuale domanda. A
che pro? Che servizio offre il suddetto ufficio?
- un altro ufficio INAF mi informa
che "La priorità IST sta pianificando il lancio di un bando integrativo
nel settore dei networked audiovisual systems and home platforms."
Cosa vuol dire? Cos'e' il networked ....? Parlano cosi' anche a tavola?
- un collega mi domanda copia dell'attivita' didattica nel triennio
precedente. Identica richiesta ricorre tutti gli anni. Perche' invence non
mi chiede solo quella del 2004 e non acquisisce quella degli anni precedenti
gia' raccolta l'anno prima?
