The IAA is a professional association for astronomers, physicists, statisticians, computer-information scientists, and others who are interested in the statistical analysis of astronomical data. The IAA is derived from the ISI Astrostatistics Committee and Network. Its foremost objective is to foster collaboration between statisticians and astrophysicists (see this overview). On 28 may 2015 we reached 500 members, distributed in all continents except Antarctica. The mailing list iaa@brera.mi.astro.it was their internal comunication channel till 12/5/2016, members now use the new site.
